Let's take a trip back in time
Before there was Banh Sai the restaurant, there was just Austin, Lucy, a food truck, and a dream.
We opened the food truck in 2020. Austin was behind the scenes creating, prepping, and cooking every dish, while Lucy was at the window taking orders and getting to know the people who kept coming back.
That little truck became our creative playground. We dreamed up specials, teamed up with local breweries for special menus, collaborative beers, and infused dishes.
Along the way, we fell in love with the Cargo District. We met so many wonderful people, watched the neighborhood grow, and collaborate in support of each other, and realized we didn't just want to work here, we wanted to be part of it.
When the opportunity came to take Banh Sai from four wheels to four walls, we took the leap!
We opened our first brick-and-mortar right here in the Cargo District. The truck was where Banh Sai began. the community is what helped it grow. And we're so grateful for every person who has been part of the journey.
